Far Infrared (FIR),
Definition and Advantages

FIR
infrared ray
energy is a part of the natural light spectrum
of sunlight - not the skin damaging ultraviolet
(UV) which is on the opposite end of the
spectrum. In
Asia and Europe it has already revolutionized
the health and beauty industries.
Far
Infrared radiation is a form of "light" energy
from the sun. It falls next to the the range of
infrared closer to the visible range. But due to
its longer wavelengths, FIR cannot be seen by
human eyes, just like as Ultraviolet Rays (UV),
which exist on the opposite side of the visible
spectrum, cannot be seen. The
sun provides it to us, but we humans now spend
too much time indoors, in artificial lighting
which cannot match the emissions from the sun.
The human body can absorb FIR because
of its deep penetrating ability. When FIR
penetrates through the skin to the subcutaneous
tissues, it transforms from light energy into
heat energy. The thermal effect within the deep
layers of tissues cause blood vessels and
capillaries to dilate, promoting blood
circulation, and the heat so produced helps to
mobilize body toxins and release metabolic wastes
through sweating.
"Regular use
of a sauna...may be as effective as a means of
cardiovascular conditioning and burning of
calories as regular exercise."
- Journal of the American Medical Association,
August 7, 1981
